Snorkelling in Cala Conta

Cala Conta is a very popular beach in the west of the island of Ibiza. On most calm days, you can expect a beautiful white sandy beach and crystal clear water. the bay is surrounded by rocky ridges where many sea urchins and smaller marine life gather. As a snorkeler, you can benefit from the wonderful light, especially in the early evening hours. You will encounter schools of Salema porgy (Sarpa salpa).

Another interesting snorkeling opportunity is Cala Tarida, where there are various algae-covered rocks. Typical algae here are Cystoseira sp., peacock's tail (Padina pavonica) and red harpoon weed (Asparagopsis armata). With a bit of luck you will find color adapted common cuttlefish (Sepia officinalis) hidden in the sand.
